Our Staff
Charles H. Johnson IV, President and Chief Executive Officer , ISHC, is a nationally recognized consultant with over 22 years of experience in convention, sports, hospitality, and general real estate consulting. Prior to forming Johnson Consulting, he worked for the Chicago-based real estate development firm, Stein and Company, which was design builder for the expansion at McCormick Place in Chicago. Prior to that, he was National Director of KPMG Peat Marwick's Convention, Sports, and Leisure Consulting practice. He served as program manager for the Puerto Rico Convention Center District project in San Juan, Puerto Rico for four years, and successfully guided that project from an idea to a highly regarded 110-acre urban redevelopment project. Johnson has worked on over 600 public assembly and urban development consulting assignments in the U.S. and abroad.
Ayu Listiowati, Senior Project Director, provides economic, market and financial analysis for real estate and hospitality projects. She is also responsible for project research, analysis and report writing. Listiowati joined Johnson Consulting after earning her masters degree in Real Estate from Cornell University. She graduated from University of Indonesia with a Professional Degree in Architecture. At Cornell University, she completed an internship with Winthrop Financial Associates, a real estate management firm in Boston, Massachusetts where as an Analyst she designed and performed financial analysis for various residential and retail properties. Listiowati has worked on the feasibility study and room-tax projection for the City of Overland Park, KS, and Osceola County, FL. She also developed a comprehensive real estate planning model for a convention center and hotel complex in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She performed analyses for the Jackson Telecom Conference Center in Jackson, MS and the Busch Memorial Center in St. Louis University in St. Louis, MO. She is currently analyzing a ski resort expansion in Ghent, West Virginia and a resort/hotel expansion in Daniels, West Virginia as part of our contract with the West Virginia Development Office.
Ryan Johnson, Project Director, joined Johnson Consulting in 2006 and has done extensive coursework in international relations and finance, statistics, and business management. He has studied at the University of Denver and DePaul University. Prior to joining Johnson Consulting, Ryan worked in commercial production as a line producer for a major production company in Los Angles and New York. Since joining Johnson Consulting, he has worked on the analysis of the venue for Expo 2010 in Shanghai, China as well as an analysis of the Wenatchee Convention Center in Wenatchee, Washington. Currently, Ryan is working on an analysis of the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City, and is about to begin work on a labor analysis for the Atlantic City Convention Center.
Aaron Valdez, Project Director, joined Johnson Consulting from the fixed income industry, where his duties included financial modeling, credit risk management for mortgage-backed securities, and trustee, custodian, and paying agent support for CDOs. He holds a BS in Finance from the University of Colorado at Boulder and certification from CU's Real Estate Center. In addition, Aaron is currently a member of the Urban Land Institute and has been deeply involved with his family's real estate investment business for over 10 years.
Maria Vivanco, Business Development Manager, Maria Vivanco provides Johnson Consulting with experience in marketing, advertising, and administrative management. She has extensive experience in project administration, directing developer solicitations for real estate projects, and performing client relationship management. Prior to joining Johnson Consulting, Maria worked for a real estate investment firm for seven years.
Brandon Dowling, Associate Project Analyst, Mr. Dowling recently joined Johnson Consulting as an Associate Project Analyst. Prior to joining Johnson Consulting he worked in the retail real estate industry, in which Mr. Dowling preformed market research analysis for future shopping center development. His specific duties included, marketing, mapping, and networking with retail executives. Mr. Dowling holds a BS in Business and Urban Planning from Arizona State University. In addition, Mr. Dowling is currently a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and a licensed real estate agent in the State of Arizona.
Jesse Strickland, Associate Project Analyst, Prior to joining Johnson Consulting in 2008, Jesse worked in sales and marking for a national artwork manufacturer. After moving to Chicago to attend DePaul University to pursue his MBA with a concentration in real estate finance and investment, he completed an internship with CB Richard Ellis where he worked with a retail brokerage team. Jesse holds a BA in international relations from Trinity College in Hartford CT, and is a licensed Illinois real estate salesperson.
